Telomere Peptide Disclaimer
2021

Bill Lawrence Ph.D. Longevity Institute, Inc. (Institute), a Georgia corporation, is the administrator of a clinical study known as the Telomerase Activation Protocol (TAP).  The study is to determine if certain Khavinson Peptide Bioregulators (peptides), developed by the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology (Russia), act as telomerase activation agents resulting in the lengthening of human telomeres.  Both Institutes and Bill Lawrence are collectively referred to as “Institution” herein.

Informed Consent

The peptides consist of certain food supplements (amino acids) extracted from young calves. These are provided in capsules as nutraceutical preparations and are natural extracts rather than synthetic chemicals. The peptides are not considered drugs or medicine in the United States or Russia. The peptides were developed and manufactured with the Russian Academy of Sciences’ approval in St. Petersburg, Russia.

The clinical study is not registered with the USA government (Clinical Trials.Gov) nor subject to oversight, review, or approval of the USA Food and Drug Administration.

Risks and Benefits

Based on thirty years of peptide experience by the Russian Institute, each peptide’s dose level is within the framework of previously accepted clinical use for each component used alone or in combination with other peptides as well as vitamins, minerals, or dietary supplements. There is no reason to think this combination will be harmful in any way, but this is not known for certain. There is no history of the peptides interfering with pharmaceutical drugs or medical conditions, but this is also not known for certain. The Participant’s reaction to the peptides provided is not known. Participant agrees to report any symptoms or changes in health to the Institute immediately. A few participants’ only adverse reactions have been nausea or diarrhea at the peptide protocol’s commencement.  Participant assumes the risk of adverse reactions and agrees to hold the Institute, and the primary researcher, Bill Lawrence Ph.D., harmless from any health or medical issues, including death.

A Participant may develop positive health effects from the use of the peptides. Such benefits cannot be predicted or guaranteed, and none have been promised. The published scientific literature relevant to the peptides shows some potentially beneficial effects on health and biological aging, but none have been promised to Participants.  There is no unequivocal proof or broad consensus among aging specialists that dietary peptides will positively or negatively affect Participants’ aging process or general health.

Medical Advice Disclaimer

The Institute and Bill Lawrence Ph.D. is not a licensed medical clinic or physician and does not provide medical advice, services, diagnosis, or treatment. While telomere loss is associated with aging, a peptide intervention is not considered a medical intervention. The USA FDA does not consider aging a disease, and natural nutraceuticals from food are not considered drugs or medicine.

General

The Institute has not made any claims or representations regarding the use of Russian peptides and has only reported clinical studies conducted by the Institute. The Institute has not made any representations or guarantees of the peptides’ effectiveness concerning Participant’s telomere status or any reduction in Participant’s biological, cellular age, or general health.
